Bollinger La Grande Année Rosé Brut 2007

La Grande Année Rosé 2007 is an autumn Champagne, complex and overwhelmingly full of character. 2007 was an early vintage that produced grapes with great aromatic maturity. The addition of the famous red wine from the Côte aux Enfants gives this rosé a backbone almost like that of a still red wine. On the nose, it is a triumph of tertiary aromas: notes of red currant and dried raspberry blend with scents of blond tobacco, dry hay, bitter orange peel, and a subtle hint of roasting. On the palate, it is broad, structured, and aristocratic. The bubbles are so well integrated that they feel creamy, leaving room for a citrus freshness that still supports each sip. The finish is very long, marked by an almost chalky minerality and a trace of dark spices.
