Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Beaune Blanc Au Bout du Monde 2022, Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey
In this 2022, despite the warmth of the vintage, Pierre-Yves managed to keep the alcohol at perfect levels; the alcohol supports the fruit without ever weighing down the sip, which remains dominated by a sharp and refreshing acidic backbone.
Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Beaune Blanc Au Bout du Monde 2022, Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey
L'Au Bout du Monde 2022 is one of the most exciting interpretations of Burgundy's "lesser" terroirs, crafted by one of the undisputed masters of modern Chardonnay. Located at a high altitude in Vauchignon (above Cormot-le-Grand), this vineyard benefits from a cool microclimate which, in the sunny 2022 vintage, allowed it to maintain a vibrant tension. On the nose, it is a blade of light: dominated by notes of lime zest, struck match (the typical noble reduction of Colin-Morey), white flowers, and a striking chalky minerality. On the palate, the wine is electric, elegant, with a citrusy acidity that cuts through the softness of the ripe fruit. The finish is saline, almost iodine-like, leaving the mouth clean and deeply refreshed.
