Brunello di Montalcino 2018, Cupano
An aristocratic and Burgundian interpretation of Montalcino. The olfactory profile alternates between small black fruits and mineral and floral notes. On the palate, it is harmonious, taut, and incredibly long, characterized by perfectly integrated tannins. A Brunello of great personality that shines for its grace and mineral depth.
Brunello di Montalcino 2018, Cupano
Cupano's 2018 Brunello di Montalcino is a wine of almost whispered elegance, born from a unique terroir located on a gravelly plateau near Camigliano (south-western slope). Here, the draining soils reminiscent of those in the Médoc give Sangiovese a 'French' refinement. In a cool vintage like 2018, Cupano has been able to highlight its floral and mineral components. On the nose, it presents a complex bouquet: violet, small forest fruits, graphite, and a note of sweet tobacco and noble spices derived from the skillful use of French oak. On the palate, it is pure silk; the sip is agile and lively, with a very fine tannic structure and a vibrant acidity leading to a saline, long-lasting finish. This is a Brunello that focuses entirely on verticality and harmony.
