Brunello di Montalcino Il Greppo 2017, Biondi Santi
An example of winemaking resilience. In a scorching vintage, Biondi Santi produces a wine of great balance and unexpected freshness. The aromatic profile is clear and complex, while the taste stands out for its tension and purity. A Brunello that confirms the nobility of the Greppo terroir, capable of delivering finesse even in the most extreme conditions.
Brunello di Montalcino Il Greppo 2017, Biondi Santi
The 2017 Biondi Santi Brunello di Montalcino is a miracle of balance in one of the hottest and most challenging vintages of the last decade. Thanks to the altitude of the vineyards at Tenuta Greppo and the careful canopy management, the winery has produced a wine that defies the rules of the vintage. On the nose, it is surprisingly fresh: notes of ripe Morello cherry and cherry intertwine with aromas of violet, orange peel, and a distinctive mineral note of flint and iodine. On the palate, it is masterful; the entry is silky yet supported by that acidic backbone that is the DNA of Biondi Santi. The tannin is polished, with no trace of overripeness, leading to a long, clean, and vibrant finish reminiscent of blonde tobacco and licorice root.
