Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2000, Valentini
A monumental red for charisma, mystery, and stylistic rigor. The olfactory profile alternates wild notes and dark fruits with tertiary aromas of extreme nobility and refinement. On the palate, it is dense, savory, and characterized by a masterful balance between material power and a bygone verticality. A display of style that represents the absolute pinnacle of Italian winemaking.
Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2000, Valentini
Valentini's 2000 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is a monumental work, the very essence of artisanal and visionary Abruzzo. Edoardo Valentini (in his final period of supervision before his passing) created in this vintage a wine of astonishing complexity, capable of evolving in the glass for hours. The 2000, a sunny and powerful year, yielded dense raw material, which aging in the historic large oak barrels transformed into a primordial nectar. On the nose, it is a concert of rare elegance: clear notes of maraschino cherry, dried plum, and licorice blend with deep aromas of leather, rust, black truffle, cocoa powder, and a mineral trail evoking wet earth and flint. On the palate, it is sumptuous and three-dimensional;The entrance is broad, dominated by a dense yet vibrant texture, with a noble tannin now perfectly integrated that extends towards a savory, endless finish with an interminable aromatic persistence, characterized by an aristocratic balsamic freshness.
