Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2017, Valentini
A monumental red for charisma, vigor, and stylistic rigor. The aromatic profile alternates dense black fruits with early tertiary notes of earth and leather of extreme refinement. On the palate, it is dense, savory, and characterized by a masterful balance between alcoholic strength and tannin structure. A stylistic achievement that represents the pinnacle of identity-driven winemaking.
Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2017, Valentini
Valentini's 2017 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is a monumental work, a giant born in an extreme vintage that Francesco Paolo Valentini was able to interpret with his usual artisanal rigor. The 2017 vintage was marked by high temperatures and very scarce rainfall, conditions that in the Loreto Aprutino terroir led to very low yields and unprecedented phenolic richness. The resulting wine is a living paradox: imposing yet astonishingly clean in style. On the nose, it is a concert of rare elegance: clear notes of ripe Morello cherry, carob, and dark plum blend with deep hints of licorice root, scorched earth, Kentucky tobacco, and a mineral trail reminiscent of graphite with an ancient blood-like note. On the palate, it is sumptuous and three-dimensional;The entry is broad, dominated by a dense and fleshy texture, with a noble and tight tannin that stretches towards a savory, endless finish with an interminable aromatic persistence, characterized by an aristocratic balsamic freshness that defies the dryness of the vintage.
