The 2019 Stroblhof Pinot Noir Riserva is a monumental work, the expression of a high-altitude 'Cru' where the cool microclimate and the calcareous soils of Appiano Monte create a wine of almost mystical elegance. Andreas Nicolussi-Leck produces a Pinot Noir that does not seek showiness, but depth. 2019 was a remarkable vintage for South Tyrol, capable of combining extraordinary fruit concentration with an acidity tension reminiscent of the great Burgundies of the Côte de Nuits. On the nose, it is a concerto of rare elegance: clear notes of morello cherry, small red fruits, and eucalyptus merge with deep hints of dark spices, incense, coffee powder, and a mineral streak that recalls wet earth. On the palate, it is sumptuous and three-dimensional; the entry is silky but supported by a vibrant acidic spine, with noble and polished tannins that lead to a savory, endless finish characterized by aristocratic balsamic freshness.
