Johannes Graf Khuen-Belasi interprets Pinot Noir with a precision reminiscent of the great Premier Cru wines of Gevrey-Chambertin, but with the vibrant energy of the porphyry and limestone soils of South Tyrol. 2019 was an extraordinary vintage: here the Baltasius achieves a tailor-made definition. On the nose, it is a concert of rare elegance: clear notes of wild strawberry, blackcurrant, and violet blend with deep hints of pink pepper, damp undergrowth, incense, and a mineral streak that evokes graphite.
