Lagavulin 16 is a powerful and velvety experience. The nose is dominated by thick peat smoke, seaweed, and a dried fruit sweetness. On the palate, it is full-bodied and rich: the initial explosion of smoke and salt gives way to hints of sherry, vanilla, and black tea. The finish is monumental: incredibly long, spicy, and with a lingering return of peat and noble oak.
